i feel official

officially a grad student. no, it's not being two weeks from half way through. it's not finishing a grueling internship. it's not even being broke as a joke and looking forward to another year of self-imposed poverty. i finally have the beloved "grad student stomach ulcer." ok, so it's not an official diagnosis, but i'm trying to get ahead of the curve.

good news for today is that i finished everything that was/is due this week (and it's not even midnight yet!) and completed a presentation on Islam that mom and i are giving tomorrow in my diversity class. i'm really excited about it! i hope the class has some questions or pays attention at the least. i'm also thrilled to be giving a presentation with mom again. i'm not sure i'd be doing this today if she hadn't set an exampe for us when we were young and encouraged us to talk, to read, to learn. thank you, mom, i love you. wish us luck!
