life

i was trying to think of something interesting to write about tonight, but things here are pretty boring. well, maybe not boring, but not a whole lot new.

tho we did have an interesting experience at about midnight last night. i'd been a sleep for about an hour and was thoroughly enjoying the cool night breeze from the open window. kali had just fallen asleep when all of a sudden this woman outside by the pool starts yelling at two people who were in the pool. and she wasn't just yelling stuff like, "hey you guys come and take me home". oh, no ... that would have been too ... ummm ... civil. she was yelling expletives that i'm pretty sure contradict each other and definitely cannot reproduce here, as i like to keep my blog PG-13. i got quite an education that my MSW program couldn't possibly provide. kali called the management company and the security guy showed up about 20 minutes later, after the shouting lady had left (made me feel VERY secure, let me tell ya). we watched for a bit while the pool people, who seemed to be high on something other than life, searched for some keys they lost in the bushes around the pool. overall, it was a surreal experience to have in the middle of the night.

i got information today on how to start my thesis. maybe i should say "our" thesis cuz jam has promised to help me brainstorm topics (please, please, please!!) on twins so we can use it as the start of "our" book. i'm a little nervous about this process, but i'm sure it'll be a good experience and hopefully help if i decide to get a PhD.

i guess that's it for tonight. let's hope the yelling lady made it home last night and didn't come back for part two tonight.

yes, but was the yelling lady hugging a cactus? or did she APPEAR to have been hugging a cactus? that may explain the yelling...

lori, that may be the funniest thing you've ever said. but you're still going to hug a cactus.
